رسالة مركز الرافدين الدولي إلى السفيرة الاميركية جاكوبسن بخصوص الاعدامات في العراق وقانون العفو العام

تحية طيبة وبعد نحن في مركز الرافدين الدولي للعدالة وحقوق الإنسان، نتوجه إليكم بهذه الرسالة لنطلب من حكومتكم التدخل الفوري لإيقاف عمليات الإعدام العشوائي والطائفي في العراق، والتي تتزايد بشكل مقلق وتؤثر بشكل خاص على المعتقلين السنة.
إن الأوضاع في السجون العراقية تتدهور بشكل مستمر، حيث يتعرض السجناء لانتهاكات خطيرة لحقوق الإنسان، بما في ذلك التعذيب وسوء المعاملة.
إن هذه الانتهاكات تعد انتهاكًا صارخًا للمعايير الدولية لحقوق الإنسان وتستلزم تدخلاً عاجلاً، كما ونطالب حكومتكم بالتالي:
إيقاف عمليات الإعدام العشوائي والطائفي.
التدخل الفوري لوقف تنفيذ أحكام الإعدام التي تفتقر إلى العدالة والنزاهة.
اقرار قانون العفو العام.
إعادة التحقيق في ملفات المحكومين بالإعدام.
الضغط على الحكومة العراقية لإعادة فتح ملفات المحكومين بالإعدام وضمان محاكمات عادلة ونزيهة لهم.
الاطلاع على واقع السجون العراقية.
إرسال لجان دولية مستقلة لتفقد أوضاع السجون والتحقيق في الانتهاكات التي يتعرض لها السجناء، مع التركيز على السجناء السنة الذين يتعرضون لانتهاكات خطيرة.
تحمل المسؤولية الدولية.
ندعو حكومتكم لتحمل مسؤوليتها تجاه ما يحدث في العراق من انتهاكات لحقوق الإنسان، كنتيجة مباشرة للاحتلال الأمريكي للعراق عام 2003.
إن هذه الجرائم والانتهاكات تتطلب تحقيقًا دوليًا شاملاً.
إن التدخل الأمريكي يمكن أن يكون له تأثير كبير في تحسين أوضاع حقوق الإنسان في العراق، ونحن نثق في دعمكم لهذه القضية الإنسانية الملحة.
إن حياة العديد من الأبرياء على المحك، وواجبنا الأخلاقي والإنساني يحتم علينا التحرك سريعًا.
نتطلع إلى ردكم العاجل وإلى رؤية خطوات ملموسة تُتخذ لحماية حقوق الإنسان في العراق.

Letter to Her Excellency the U.S. Ambassador to Iraq

Best regards, Your Excellency the distinguished Ambassador
We at the Al-Rafidain International Center for Justice and Human Rights address you through this letter to request the immediate intervention of your government to halt the arbitrary and sectarian executions in Iraq, which are increasingly alarming and specifically affect Sunni detainees. The conditions in Iraqi prisons are continuously deteriorating, where prisoners are subjected to severe human rights violations, including torture and ill-treatment. These violations represent a blatant breach of international human rights standards and require urgent intervention.
We further request the following from your government:
- Halt Arbitrary and Sectarian Executions: Immediate intervention to stop the execution of death sentences that lack justice and fairness.
- Enact a General Amnesty Law.
- Reinvestigate the Cases of Those Sentenced to Death:* Pressuring the Iraqi government to reopen the cases of those sentenced to death to ensure fair and impartial trials.
- Examine the Conditions of Iraqi Prisons: Sending independent international committees to inspect prison conditions and investigate the violations suffered by prisoners, with a focus on Sunni prisoners who face severe abuses.
- Assume International Responsibility: We urge your government to take responsibility for the human rights violations occurring in Iraq, as a direct result of the American occupation of Iraq in 2003. These crimes and violations necessitate a comprehensive international investigation.
U.S. intervention could significantly improve the human rights situation in Iraq, and we trust in your support for this urgent humanitarian cause. Many innocent lives are at stake, and it is our moral and humanitarian duty to act swiftly.
We look forward to your prompt response and to seeing tangible steps taken to protect human rights in Iraq.
